Cherifa Nakkach*, Amira Zrelli, Tahar Ezzedine

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.1, pp. 545-560, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.036385 - 29 April 2023

Abstract Due to the development of diversified and flexible building energy resources, the balancing energy supply and demand especially in smart buildings caused an increasing problem. Energy forecasting is necessary to address building energy issues and comfort challenges that drive urbanization and consequent increases in energy consumption. Recently, their management has a great significance as resources become scarcer and their emissions increase. In this article, we propose an intelligent energy forecasting method based on hybrid deep learning, in which the data collected by the smart home through meters is put into the pre-evaluation step. Abstract Effective technology for wind direction forecasting can be realized using the recent advances in machine learning. Consequently, the stability and safety of power systems are expected to be significantly improved. However, the unstable and unpredictable qualities of the wind predict the wind direction a challenging problem. This paper proposes a practical forecasting approach based on the weighted ensemble of machine learning models. This weighted ensemble is optimized using a whale optimization algorithm guided by particle swarm optimization (PSO-Guided WOA). The proposed optimized weighted ensemble predicts the wind direction given a set of input features. The… More >

Smart CardioWatch System for Patients with Cardiovascular Diseases Who Live Alone

Raisa Nazir Ahmed Kazi1,*, Manjur Kolhar2, Faiza Rizwan2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.2, pp. 1237-1250, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.012707 - 26 November 2020

Abstract The widespread use of smartwatches has increased their specific and complementary activities in the health sector for patient’s prognosis. In this study, we propose a framework referred to as smart forecasting CardioWatch (SCW) to measure the heart-rate variation (HRV) for patients with myocardial infarction (MI) who live alone or are outside their homes. In this study, HRV is used as a vital alarming sign for patients with MI. The performance of the proposed framework is measured using machine learning and deep learning techniques, namely, support vector machine, logistic regression, and decision-tree classification techniques.
