    Abdul Qadir Khan1, Guangmin Sun1,*, Yu Li1, Anas Bilal2, Malik Abdul Manan1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 2481-2504, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.043239 - 29 November 2023

Abstract In the emerging field of image segmentation, Fully Convolutional Networks (FCNs) have recently become prominent. However, their effectiveness is intimately linked with the correct selection and fine-tuning of hyperparameters, which can often be a cumbersome manual task. The main aim of this study is to propose a more efficient, less labour-intensive approach to hyperparameter optimization in FCNs for segmenting fundus images. To this end, our research introduces a hyperparameter-optimized Fully Convolutional Encoder-Decoder Network (FCEDN). The optimization is handled by a novel Genetic Grey Wolf Optimization (G-GWO) algorithm. This algorithm employs the Genetic Algorithm (GA) to… More >

Moth Flame Optimization Based FCNN for Prediction of Bugs in Software

    C. Anjali*, Julia Punitha Malar Dhas, J. Amar Pratap Singh

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1241-1256, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.029678 - 05 January 2023

Abstract The software engineering technique makes it possible to create high-quality software. One of the most significant qualities of good software is that it is devoid of bugs. One of the most time-consuming and costly software procedures is finding and fixing bugs. Although it is impossible to eradicate all bugs, it is feasible to reduce the number of bugs and their negative effects. To broaden the scope of bug prediction techniques and increase software quality, numerous causes of software problems must be identified, and successful bug prediction models must be implemented. This study employs a hybrid… More >

ResCD-FCN: Semantic Scene Change Detection Using Deep Neural Networks

    S. Eliza Femi Sherley1,*, J. M. Karthikeyan1, N. Bharath Raj1, R. Prabakaran2, A. Abinaya1, S. V. V. Lakshmi3

    Journal on Artificial Intelligence, Vol.4, No.4, pp. 215-227, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jai.2022.034931 - 25 May 2023

Abstract Semantic change detection is extension of change detection task in which it is not only used to identify the changed regions but also to analyze the land area semantic (labels/categories) details before and after the timelines are analyzed. Periodical land change analysis is used for many real time applications for valuation purposes. Majority of the research works are focused on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) which tries to analyze changes alone. Semantic information of changes appears to be missing, there by absence of communication between the different semantic timelines and changes detected over the region happens.… More >

Small Object Detection via Precise Region-Based Fully Convolutional Networks

    Dengyong Zhang1,2, Jiawei Hu1,2, Feng Li1,2,*, Xiangling Ding3, Arun Kumar Sangaiah4, Victor S. Sheng5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.2, pp. 1503-1517, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017089 - 21 July 2021

Abstract In the past several years, remarkable achievements have been made in the field of object detection. Although performance is generally improving, the accuracy of small object detection remains low compared with that of large object detection. In addition, localization misalignment issues are common for small objects, as seen in GoogLeNets and residual networks (ResNets). To address this problem, we propose an improved region-based fully convolutional network (R-FCN). The presented technique improves detection accuracy and eliminates localization misalignment by replacing position-sensitive region of interest (PS-RoI) pooling with position-sensitive precise region of interest (PS-Pr-RoI) pooling, which avoids More >

On the Efficiency of a CFD-Based Full Convolution Neural Network for the Post-Processing of Field Data

Sheng Bai, Feng Bao*, Fengzhi Zhao

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.17, No.1, pp. 39-47, 2021, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2021.010376 - 09 February 2021

Abstract The present study aims to improve the efficiency of typical procedures used for post-processing flow field data by applying a neural-network technology. Assuming a problem of aircraft design as the workhorse, a regression calculation model for processing the flow data of a FCN-VGG19 aircraft is elaborated based on VGGNet (Visual Geometry Group Net) and FCN (Fully Convolutional Network) techniques. As shown by the results, the model displays a strong fitting ability, and there is almost no over-fitting in training. Moreover, the model has good accuracy and convergence. For different input data and different grids, the More >

Empirical Comparisons of Deep Learning Networks on Liver Segmentation

    Yi Shen1, Victor S. Sheng1, 2, *, Lei Wang1, Jie Duan1, Xuefeng Xi1, Dengyong Zhang3, Ziming Cui1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.3, pp. 1233-1247, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.07450

Abstract Accurate segmentation of CT images of liver tumors is an important adjunct for the liver diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases. In recent years, due to the great improvement of hard device, many deep learning based methods have been proposed for automatic liver segmentation. Among them, there are the plain neural network headed by FCN and the residual neural network headed by Resnet, both of which have many variations. They have achieved certain achievements in medical image segmentation. In this paper, we firstly select five representative structures, i.e., FCN, U-Net, Segnet, Resnet and Densenet, to More >

Improved Fully Convolutional Network for Digital Image Region Forgery Detection

    Jiwei Zhang1, Yueying Li2, Shaozhang Niu1,*, Zhiyi Cao1, Xinyi Wang1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.60, No.1, pp. 287-303, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05353

Abstract With the rapid development of image editing techniques, the image splicing behavior, typically for those that involve copying a portion from one original image into another targeted image, has become one of the most prevalent challenges in our society. The existing algorithms relying on hand-crafted features can be used to detect image splicing but unfortunately lack precise location information of the tampered region. On the basis of changing the classifications of fully convolutional network (FCN), here we proposed an improved FCN that enables locating the spliced region. Specifically, we first insert the original images into… More >
