    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.81, No.1, pp. 985-1008, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.055614 - 15 October 2024

Abstract This research is the first application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) equipped with Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) servers to offshore wind farms, providing a new task offloading solution to address the challenge of scarce edge servers in offshore wind farms. The proposed strategy is to offload the computational tasks in this scenario to other MEC servers and compute them proportionally, which effectively reduces the computational pressure on local MEC servers when wind turbine data are abnormal. Finally, the task offloading problem is modeled as a multi-intelligent deep reinforcement learning problem, and a task offloading model… More >

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.29, No.1, pp. 1-1, 2024, DOI:10.32604/icces.2024.011054

Abstract The underwater explosion (UNDEX) could cause the fatal damage of naval ships and submarines in the naval battle, and seriously threaten their combat capability [1]. The UNDEX process is very complicated, including the propagation and reflection of the shock wave, formation and collapse of cavitation zone, trainset dynamic structural response and so on [2]. In this paper, we develop the three-dimensional Discontinuous Galerkin method (DGM) model for simulating the propagation of incident shock loading in fluid domain. The pressure cutoff model is employed to deal with the cavitation effect due to the reflection of the More >

Abstract In this article, a novel metaheuristic technique named Far and Near Optimization (FNO) is introduced, offering versatile applications across various scientific domains for optimization tasks. The core concept behind FNO lies in integrating global and local search methodologies to update the algorithm population within the problem-solving space based on moving each member to the farthest and nearest member to itself. The paper delineates the theory of FNO, presenting a mathematical model in two phases: (i) exploration based on the simulation of the movement of a population member towards the farthest member from itself and (ii)… More >

Abstract Background: Myocardial infarction (MI) is known worldwide for its important disabling features, including myocarditis and cardiomyocyte apoptosis. It is believed that microRNA (miRNA) has a role in the cellular processes of apoptosis and myocarditis, and miR-219a-5p has been found to suppress the inflammatory response. However, unknown is the precise mechanism by which miR-219a-5p contributes to MI. Methods: We measured the expression of miR-219a-5p and evaluated its effects on target proteins, inflammatory factors, and apoptosis in a mouse model of MI. Echocardiography was utilized to examine the MI clinical index, and triphenyl tetrazolium chloride staining was More >

Ladder Time Stepwise Inertia Coordinated Control Method of Multiple Wind Farms to Suppress System Frequency Secondary Drop

    He Li1, Xianchao Liu2,*, Jidong Li1, Yuchen Qiu2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.8, pp. 2293-2311, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.048752 - 19 July 2024

Abstract When employing stepwise inertial control (SIC), wind power generation can offer significant frequency support to the power system, concurrently mitigating energy shortages and suppressing secondary frequency drop. Nonetheless, further investigation is imperative for implementing stepped inertia control due to variations in frequency regulation capabilities and operational safety among diverse wind farm groups. Consequently, this paper advocates a multi-wind farm ladder timing SIC method designed to alleviate secondary drops in system frequency. Initially, the paper introduces the fundamental principles of stepped inertia control for a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) and deduces the relationship between support energy,… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.6, pp. 1637-1656, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.047678 - 21 May 2024

Abstract To address uncertainty as well as transient stability constraints simultaneously in the preventive control of wind farm systems, a novel three-stage optimization strategy is established in this paper. In the first stage, the probabilistic multi-objective particle swarm optimization based on the point estimate method is employed to cope with the stochastic factors. The transient security region of the system is accurately ensured by the interior point method in the second stage. Finally, the verification of the final optimal objectives and satisfied constraints are enforced in the last stage. Furthermore, the proposed strategy is a general More >

Abstract The study presents the Half Max Insertion Heuristic (HMIH) as a novel approach to solving the Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP). The goal is to outperform existing techniques such as the Farthest Insertion Heuristic (FIH) and Nearest Neighbour Heuristic (NNH). The paper discusses the limitations of current construction tour heuristics, focusing particularly on the significant margin of error in FIH. It then proposes HMIH as an alternative that minimizes the increase in tour distance and includes more nodes. HMIH improves tour quality by starting with an initial tour consisting of a ‘minimum’ polygon and iteratively adding… More >
