Abstract The laminated cooling configuration offers significant advantages in enhancing the cooling effectiveness, prolonging the service life, and enhancing the reliability of turbine blades. It stands as one of the key development directions for the cooling structure of next-generation turbine blades. Numerous scholars have conducted extensive research on laminated cooling, which has been widely applied in the aviation industry. With the continuous rise in turbine inlet temperatures, there is a growing need to further enhance the cooling performance of the blades. Therefore, this study proposes the utilization of a shaped film hole to enhance the overall… More >

An Experimental Study on the Effectiveness of Individualized Online Intervention for Mental Health Literacy of Community Residents

    Zongjun Ke1, Mian Xia2,*, Weibo Yang3, Bingjie Hou2, Hanhui Deng4

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.26, No.8, pp. 663-670, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2024.049161 - 30 August 2024

Abstract Background: Understanding how to improve mental health literacy is conducive to maintaining and promoting individuals’ mental health and well-being. However, to date, interventions for mental health literacy primarily depend on traditional education and contact interventions, which have limitations with regard to pertinence and individualization. Artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technology have influenced mental health services to be more intellectual and digital, and they also provide greater technical convenience for individualized interventions for promoting mental health literacy. However, there is relatively little research on the effectiveness of individualized online intervention for mental health literacy in… More >

Improving the Effectiveness of Image Classification Structural Methods by Compressing the Description According to the Information Content Criterion

    Yousef Ibrahim Daradkeh1,*, Volodymyr Gorokhovatskyi2, Iryna Tvoroshenko2,*, Medien Zeghid1,3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.80, No.2, pp. 3085-3106, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.051709 - 15 August 2024

Abstract The research aims to improve the performance of image recognition methods based on a description in the form of a set of keypoint descriptors. The main focus is on increasing the speed of establishing the relevance of object and etalon descriptions while maintaining the required level of classification efficiency. The class to be recognized is represented by an infinite set of images obtained from the etalon by applying arbitrary geometric transformations. It is proposed to reduce the descriptions for the etalon database by selecting the most significant descriptor components according to the information content criterion.… More >

The Effectiveness of Psychotherapy on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in Soldier: A Systematic Review

Wencen Lan, Bin Wang*, Gai Li, Jianming Liu

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.26, No.7, pp. 499-516, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2024.052309 - 30 July 2024

Abstract The objective of this systematic review is to examine the effectiveness of psychotherapy in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in military personnel. PubMed, Web of Science, The Cochrane Library, EBSCO and CNKI databases were searched from 1 January, 2000 to November 2022 for Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) on psychotherapeutic interventions for military PTSD. The physical Therapy Evidence Database (PEDro) scale was used to evaluate the quality of the literature. Two researchers conducted literature screening, data extraction, and risk bias assessment in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Ultimately, 49 RCTs were included, involving a total… More >

An Empirical Study on the Effectiveness of Adversarial Examples in Malware Detection

Younghoon Ban, Myeonghyun Kim, Haehyun Cho*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.3, pp. 3535-3563, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.046658 - 11 March 2024

Abstract Antivirus vendors and the research community employ Machine Learning (ML) or Deep Learning (DL)-based static analysis techniques for efficient identification of new threats, given the continual emergence of novel malware variants. On the other hand, numerous researchers have reported that Adversarial Examples (AEs), generated by manipulating previously detected malware, can successfully evade ML/DL-based classifiers. Commercial antivirus systems, in particular, have been identified as vulnerable to such AEs. This paper firstly focuses on conducting black-box attacks to circumvent ML/DL-based malware classifiers. Our attack method utilizes seven different perturbations, including Overlay Append, Section Append, and Break Checksum,… More >

Psychological Anxiety Intervention for Young Audiences: Effectiveness Evaluation of Art Museums

    Jingjing Zhou1, Yungneng Lin2,*, Tingting Huang1

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.26, No.1, pp. 39-49, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2023.045203 - 05 February 2024

Abstract The mental health of young people, a significant public health concern worldwide, has deteriorated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the subsiding of the epidemic, the issue remains unresolved in the post-pandemic era, specifically in China. In response, numerous art museums have stepped up to provide long-term therapeutic experiences and comprehensive mental health support. While these institutions offer a variety of services and programs aimed at enhancing the psychological well-being of their visitors, a standardized method for assessing their impact is lacking. This study, therefore, employed the Generic Wellbeing Questionnaire (GWQ) as a tool to evaluate… More >

Terrorism Attack Classification Using Machine Learning: The Effectiveness of Using Textual Features Extracted from GTD Dataset

    Mohammed Abdalsalam1,*, Chunlin Li1, Abdelghani Dahou2, Natalia Kryvinska3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1427-1467, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.029911 - 17 November 2023

Abstract One of the biggest dangers to society today is terrorism, where attacks have become one of the most significant risks to international peace and national security. Big data, information analysis, and artificial intelligence (AI) have become the basis for making strategic decisions in many sensitive areas, such as fraud detection, risk management, medical diagnosis, and counter-terrorism. However, there is still a need to assess how terrorist attacks are related, initiated, and detected. For this purpose, we propose a novel framework for classifying and predicting terrorist attacks. The proposed framework posits that neglected text attributes included… More >

An Experimental Investigation of Aero-Foil-Shaped Pin Fin Arrays

    Mainak Bhaumik1, Anirban Sur2,*, Kavita Dhanawade3

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.21, pp. 467-486, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2023.044605 - 30 November 2023

Abstract Pin fins are widely used in applications where effective heat transfer is crucial. Their compact design, high surface area, and efficient heat transfer characteristics make them a practical choice for many thermal management applications. But for a high heat transfer rate and lightweight application, aerofoil shape pin fins are a good option. This work focuses on an experimental model analysis of pin-fins with aerofoil shapes. The results were evaluated between perforation, no perforation, inline, and staggered fin configurations. Aluminum is used to make the pin fins array. The experiment is carried out inside a wind… More >
