    Enze Zhou1, Y. Yang1, Junli Yu1, Zhuangkuo Liu1, Wenxiao Xu2, Mingyu Xiang1

    Revista Internacional de Métodos Numéricos para Cálculo y Diseño en Ingeniería, Vol.40, No.2, pp. 1-8, 2024, DOI:10.23967/j.rimni.2024.04.001 - 22 April 2024

Abstract The distribution of resistance coefficients of heat supply pipe networks is the key data guiding the hydraulic balance adjustment of heat networks. Since the heat supply pipe network is composed of many pipe segments and the resistance coefficient of each pipe segment is different during heat supply operation, the identification of the resistance coefficient of the heat supply pipe network is an optimization problem with multiple objective functions. In this paper, a high-dimensional multi-objective differential evolutionary algorithm based on global sorting is developed as a method to identify the resistance coefficients of the heat network… More >

    Liang Zeng1,2, Junyang Shi1, Yanyan Li1, Shanshan Wang1,2,*, Weigang Li3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.1, pp. 375-392, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.045803 - 30 January 2024

Abstract The job shop scheduling problem is a classical combinatorial optimization challenge frequently encountered in manufacturing systems. It involves determining the optimal execution sequences for a set of jobs on various machines to maximize production efficiency and meet multiple objectives. The Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm III (NSGA-III) is an effective approach for solving the multi-objective job shop scheduling problem. Nevertheless, it has some limitations in solving scheduling problems, including inadequate global search capability, susceptibility to premature convergence, and challenges in balancing convergence and diversity. To enhance its performance, this paper introduces a strengthened dominance relation NSGA-III… More >

    Lifeng Liu1, Menghe Shi2, Jianhui Wang3, Wendong Wang2,*, Yuliang Su2, Xinyu Zhuang2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.3, pp. 595-607, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.041962 - 12 January 2024

Abstract Ultra-low permeability reservoirs are characterized by small pore throats and poor physical properties, which are at the root of well-known problems related to injection and production. In this study, a gas injection flooding approach is analyzed in the framework of numerical simulations. In particular, the sequence and timing of fracture channeling and the related impact on production are considered for horizontal wells with different fracture morphologies. Useful data and information are provided about the regulation of gas channeling and possible strategies to delay gas channeling and optimize the gas injection volume and fracture parameters. CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.1, pp. 661-677, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.044255 - 30 December 2023

Abstract Widely used deep neural networks currently face limitations in achieving optimal performance for purchase intention prediction due to constraints on data volume and hyperparameter selection. To address this issue, based on the deep forest algorithm and further integrating evolutionary ensemble learning methods, this paper proposes a novel Deep Adaptive Evolutionary Ensemble (DAEE) model. This model introduces model diversity into the cascade layer, allowing it to adaptively adjust its structure to accommodate complex and evolving purchasing behavior patterns. Moreover, this paper optimizes the methods of obtaining feature vectors, enhancement vectors, and prediction results within the deep More >

Deep Structure Optimization for Incremental Hierarchical Fuzzy Systems Using Improved Differential Evolution Algorithm

    Yue Zhu, Tao Zhao*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1139-1158, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030178 - 17 November 2023

Abstract The optimization of the rule base of a fuzzy logic system (FLS) based on evolutionary algorithm has achieved notable results. However, due to the diversity of the deep structure in the hierarchical fuzzy system (HFS) and the correlation of each sub fuzzy system, the uncertainty of the HFS's deep structure increases. For the HFS, a large number of studies mainly use fixed structures, which cannot be selected automatically. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a novel approach for constructing the incremental HFS. During system design, the deep structure and the rule base of the… More >

Abstract This work presents multi-fidelity multi-objective infill-sampling surrogate-assisted optimization for airfoil shape optimization. The optimization problem is posed to maximize the lift and drag coefficient ratio subject to airfoil geometry constraints. Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) and XFoil tools are used for high and low-fidelity simulations of the airfoil to find the real objective function value. A special multi-objective sub-optimization problem is proposed for multiple points infill sampling exploration to improve the surrogate model constructed. To validate and further assess the proposed methods, a conventional surrogate-assisted optimization method and an infill sampling surrogate-assisted optimization criterion are applied More > Graphic Abstract

Evolution Performance of Symbolic Radial Basis Function Neural Network by Using Evolutionary Algorithms

Shehab Abdulhabib Alzaeemi1, Kim Gaik Tay1,*, Audrey Huong1, Saratha Sathasivam2, Majid Khan bin Majahar Ali2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.1, pp. 1163-1184, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.038912 - 26 May 2023

Abstract Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) ensembles have long suffered from non-efficient training, where incorrect parameter settings can be computationally disastrous. This paper examines different evolutionary algorithms for training the Symbolic Radial Basis Function Neural Network (SRBFNN) through the behavior’s integration of satisfiability programming. Inspired by evolutionary algorithms, which can iteratively find the near-optimal solution, different Evolutionary Algorithms (EAs) were designed to optimize the producer output weight of the SRBFNN that corresponds to the embedded logic programming 2Satisfiability representation (SRBFNN-2SAT). The SRBFNN’s objective function that corresponds to Satisfiability logic programming can be minimized by different… More >

An Endogenous Feedback and Entropy Analysis in Machine Learning Model for Stock’s Return Forecast

Edson Vinicius Pontes Bastos1,*, Jorge Junio Moreira Antunes2, Lino Guimarães Marujo1, Peter Fernandes Wanke2, Roberto Ivo da Rocha Lima Filho1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.3, pp. 3175-3190, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.034582 - 15 March 2023

Abstract Stock markets exhibit Brownian movement with random, non-linear, uncertain, evolutionary, non-parametric, nebulous, chaotic characteristics and dynamism with a high degree of complexity. Developing an algorithm to predict returns for decision-making is a challenging goal. In addition, the choice of variables that will serve as input to the model represents a non-triviality, since it is possible to observe endogeneity problems between the predictor and the predicted variables. Thus, the goal is to analyze the endogenous origin of the stock return prediction model based on technical indicators. For this, we structure a feed-forward neural network. We evaluate More >
