    Effect of preharvest foliar sprays of calcium nitrate on melon fruit quality

    Abstract The aim of this work was to study the effect of preharvest foliar spraying with calcium nitrate solutions on the fruit melon quality. Treatments included a combination of five solutions with Ca(NO3)2 (0.0; 1.3; 2.6; 5.2 and 10.5 g/L) and two postharvest storage environments [(24.0 ± 1.5 °C and 6.4 ± 0,8 mbar of vapor pressure deficit (VPD), and 10.0 ± 0.5 °C and 3.0 ± 0.5 mbar (VPD)].
