    Lingyu Liang1, Xiangyu Zhao1,*, Wenqi Huang1, Liming Sun2,3, Ziyao Wang3, Yaosen Zhan2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.12, pp. 2839-2856, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.042042

Abstract The N-1 criterion is a critical factor for ensuring the reliable and resilient operation of electric power distribution networks. However, the increasing complexity of distribution networks and the associated growth in data size have created a significant challenge for distribution network planners. To address this issue, we propose a fast N-1 verification procedure for urban distribution networks that combines CIM file data analysis with MILP-based mathematical modeling. Our proposed method leverages the principles of CIM file analysis for distribution network N-1 analysis. We develop a mathematical model of distribution networks based on CIM data and… More >

    BIOCELL, Vol.46, No.8, pp. 1893-1901, 2022, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2022.019724

Abstract Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (KIRC) is the most common and aggressive malignancy subtype of renal neoplasm that arises from proximal convoluted tubules. It is characterized by poor clinical outcomes and high mortality of patients due to the lack of specific biomarkers for varying stages of the disease and no effective treatment. Proteases are associated with the development of several malignant tumors in humans by their ability to degrade extracellular matrices, facilitating metastasis. Herein, differentially expressed genes in KIRC cases compared to healthy kidneys were screened out from the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA)… More >

Abstract The cancellable biometric transformations are designed to be computationally difficult to obtain the original biometric data. This paper presents a cancellable multi-biometric identification scheme that includes four stages: biometric data collection and processing, Arnold's Cat Map encryption, decimation process to reduce the size, and final merging of the four biometrics in a single generated template. First, a 2D matrix of size 128 × 128 is created based on Arnold's Cat Map (ACM). The purpose of this rearrangement is to break the correlation between pixels to hide the biometric patterns and merge these patterns together for more security. More >

Abstract Bone grafting is a surgical restructuring procedure of replacing broken bones and reconstructing missing bone pieces so that complex bone fractures can be repaired to avoid any serious health risk as well as permanent bone disfiguration. Normally, human bones tend to regenerate and heal completely from fracture. But it needs a small scaffold to provide the necessary space to grow. Bone implants allow a broken bone to grow seamlessly. Traditionally, non-corrosive metal alloys are used for fixing broken bones. A metal plate is fastened between two ends of broken bones to join them. However, issues… More >
