Abstract Compact fifth-generation (5G) low-frequency band filtering antennas (filtennas) with stable directive radiation patterns, improved bandwidth (BW), and gain are designed, fabricated, and tested in this research. The proposed filtennas are achieved by combining the predesigned compact 5G (5.975 – 7.125 GHz) third-order uniform and non-uniform transmission line hairpin bandpass filters (UTL and NTL HPBFs) with the compact ultrawide band Vivaldi tapered slot antenna (UWB VTSA) in one module. The objective of this integration is to enhance the performance of 5.975 – 7.125 GHz filtennas which will be suitable for modern mobile communication applications by exploiting the benefits of UWB VTSA. Abstract As an important part of phased array system, the research on phased array antenna is very necessary. The phased array antenna achieves the scanning beam adaptively by regulating the phase difference between each array element. In this paper, a dual K-band circularly polarized antenna with high broadband, broadband beam, wide axial ratio bandwidth and high radiation efficiency is designed. We combine with the advantages of slot antenna and aperture antenna, use multimode waveguide cavity structure to design an aperture antenna, which is fed to waveguide circular polarizer by slot coupling in order to realize circular polarization radiation. Meanwhile, it has… More >

Abstract In this paper, we have proposed a novel structure of Ka-band based phased array antenna with calibration function. In the design of Ka-band antenna, the active phased array system is adopted and the antenna would work in the dual polarization separation mode. We have given out the schematic diagram for the proposed Ka-band antenna, where the Ka-band antenna is in the form of waveguide slot array antenna, with 96 units in azimuth and 1 unit in distance. Each group of units is driven by a single-channel Transmitter/Receiver (T/R) component, and the whole array contains 192 T/R components in total. The… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2693-2704, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032778

Abstract This paper presents, a novel cactus shaped frequency reconfigurable antenna for sub 10 GHz wireless applications. PIN diode is utilized as an electrical switch to achieve reconfigurability, enabling operation in four different frequency ranges. In the switch ON state mode, the antenna supports 2177–3431 and 6301–8467 MHz ranges. Alternatively, the antenna resonates within 2329–3431 and 4951–6718 MHz while in the OFF state mode. Radiation efficiency values, ranging from 68% to 84%, and gain values, ranging from 1.6 to 4 dB, in the operating frequency bands. the proposed antenna satisfy the practical requirements and expectations. The overall planner dimensions of the proposed antenna model… More >

Abstract A compact, reconfigurable antenna supporting multiple wireless services with a minimum number of switches is found lacking in literature and the same became the focus and outcome of this work. It was achieved by designing a Th-Shaped frequency reconfigurable multi-band microstrip planar antenna, based on use of a single switch within the radiating structure of the antenna. Three frequency bands (i.e., 2007–2501 MHz, 3660–3983 MHz and 9341–1046 MHz) can be operated with the switch in the ON switch state. In the OFF state of the switch, the antenna operates within the 2577–3280 MHz and 9379–1033 MHz Bands. The proposed antenna shows an acceptable input impedance… More >

Abstract A 5G wireless system requests a high-performance compact antenna device. This research work aims to report the characterization and verification of the artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) metamaterial for a high-gain planar antenna. The configuration is formed by a double-side structure on an intrinsic dielectric slab. The 2-D periodic pattern as an impedance surface is mounted on the top surface, whereas at the bottom surface the ground plane with an inductive narrow aperture source is embedded. The characteristic of the resonant transmission is illustrated based on the electromagnetic virtual object of the AMC resonant structure to reveal the unique property of… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 313-325, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.031706

Abstract This paper proposes a new dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) design that can generate circularly polarized (CP) triple-band signals. A triple-band CP DRA antenna fed by a probe feed system is achieved with metal strips structure on side of DRA structure. The design start with conventional rectangular DRA with F shaped metal strips on DRA structure alongside the feed. Then, the F metal strip is enhanced by extending the length of the metal strip to obtain wider impedance bandwidth. Further improvement on the antenna performance is observed by improvised the conventional DRA structure. The method of removing part of DRA bottom… More >

The elements were excited by a carefully designed feeding phase shift network to provide similar output energy at output ports with desired phase shift value. The generated OAM waves were confirmed by measuring the null in… More >
