Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.21, pp. 505-522, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2023.044300

Abstract In current study, the influence of magnetic field (MHD) on heat transfer of natural convection boundary layer flow in Casson ternary hybrid nanofluid past a stretching sheet is studied using numerical simulation. The Newtonian heating boundary conditions that depend on the temperature and velocity terms are taken into this investigation. The particular dimensional governing equations, for the studied problem, are converted to the system of partial differential equations utilizing adequate similarity transformation. Consequently, the system of equations is numerically solved using well-known Kellar box numerical techniques. The obtained numerical results are in excellent approval with… More >

    Xuefei Chen1, Wenhui Tan2, Qiulan Wu1,*, Feng Zhang1, Xiumei Guo1, Zixin Zhu1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.3, pp. 3143-3157, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.040903

Abstract In order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of Lentinula edodes logs contamination identification, an improved YOLOv5s contamination identification model for Lentinula edodes logs (YOLOv5s-CGGS) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a CA (coordinate attention) mechanism is introduced in the feature extraction network of YOLOv5s to improve the identifiability of Lentinula edodes logs contamination and the accuracy of target localization. Then, the CIoU (Complete-IOU) loss function is replaced by an SIoU (SCYLLA-IoU) loss function to improve the model’s convergence speed and inference accuracy. Finally, the GSConv and GhostConv modules are used to improve and optimize More >

    Biao Li1,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.25, No.1, pp. 1-2, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09818

Abstract High-temperature coatings are extensively used in aircraft engines and industrial gas turbines to protect hot-section components from harsh operating environments [1]. Representative high-temperature coatings include thermal barrier coatings and environmental barrier coatings, which are applied to substrates made of superalloy and ceramic matrix composites, respectively. The durability of the coatings is of significant importance for the structural integrity of the components [2-4]. A segmented microstructure was widely used to improve the coatings' durability. A network of through-thickness vertical cracks is introduced into the outer layer of the coatings, which increases the compliance of the coatings… More >

Automatic Examination of Condition of Used Books with YOLO-Based Object Detection Framework

    Sumin Hong1, Jin-Woo Jeong2,*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.2, pp. 1611-1632, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.038319

Abstract As the demand for used books has grown in recent years, various online/offline market platforms have emerged to support the trade in used books. The price of used books can depend on various factors, such as the state of preservation (i.e., condition), the value of possession, and so on. Therefore, some online platforms provide a reference document to evaluate the condition of used books, but it is still not trivial for individual sellers to determine the price. The lack of a standard quantitative method to assess the condition of the used book would confuse both… More >
