    Xinyu Zhang1, Wenjie Xia2, Yang Wang3,4, Liang Wang1,*, Xiaofeng Liu1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.3, pp. 3047-3061, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.046922

Abstract Graphene aerogel (GA), as a novel solid material, has shown great potential in engineering applications due to its unique mechanical properties. In this study, the mechanical performance of GA under high-velocity projectile impacts is thoroughly investigated using full-atomic molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The study results show that the porous structure and density are key factors determining the mechanical response of GA under impact loading. Specifically, the impact-induced penetration of the projectile leads to the collapse of the pore structure, causing stretching and subsequent rupture of covalent bonds in graphene sheets. Moreover, the effects of temperature on the mechanical performance of… More >

Enhancing Sound Absorption in Micro-Perforated Panel and Porous Material Composite in Low Frequencies: A Numerical Study Using FEM

    Mohammad Javad SheikhMozafari*

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.58, pp. 81-100, 2024, DOI:10.32604/sv.2024.048897

Abstract Mitigating low-frequency noise poses a significant challenge for acoustic engineers, due to their long wavelength, with conventional porous sound absorbers showing limitations in attenuating such noise. An effective strategy involves combining porous materials with micro-perforated plates (MPP) to address this issue. Given the significant impact of structural variables like panel thickness, hole diameter, and air gap on the acoustic characteristics of MPP, achieving the optimal condition demands numerous sample iterations. The impedance tube’s considerable expense for sound absorption measurement and the substantial cost involved in fabricating each sample using a 3D printer underscore the advantage of utilizing simulation methods to… More > Graphic Abstract

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.38, No.2, pp. 153-168, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.034718

Abstract Abstractive text summarization is crucial to produce summaries of natural language with basic concepts from large text documents. Despite the achievement of English language-related abstractive text summarization models, the models that support Arabic language text summarization are fewer in number. Recent abstractive Arabic summarization models encounter different issues that need to be resolved. Syntax inconsistency is a crucial issue resulting in the low-accuracy summary. A new technique has achieved remarkable outcomes by adding topic awareness in the text summarization process that guides the module by imitating human awareness. The current research article presents Abstractive Arabic Text Summarization using Hyperparameter Tuned… More >

The Relationship between Father-Love Absence and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury: Based on Nock’s Integrated Theoretical Model of NSSI

    Yuhan Zhou1,2,#, Xiaojun Li3,#, Yanhui Xiang1,2,4,*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.26, No.1, pp. 31-38, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2023.043167

Abstract Fathers play an important role in children’s development throughout their lives, and Father-Love Absence (FLA) leads to more behavioral problems, including Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI). However, there has been no research on the relationship between FLA and NSSI and its influencing mechanism. This study is based on Nock’s integrated theoretical model of NSSI, aiming to explore the influence of FLA on NSSI and further investigate the mechanism of Subjective Vitality (SV) and Forgiveness (FORG). This study recruited 1795 adolescents in central China to complete four scales, including Father-Love Absence Scale (FLAS), The Subjective Vitality Scale (SVS), The Tendency to Forgive Scale… More >

Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Model for Intelligent Fire Intensity Detection Algorithm with Decision Making in Low-Power Devices

    Emmanuel Lule1,2,*, Chomora Mikeka3, Alexander Ngenzi4, Didacienne Mukanyiligira5

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.38, No.1, pp. 57-81, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.037988

Abstract Local markets in East Africa have been destroyed by raging fires, leading to the loss of life and property in the nearby communities. Electrical circuits, arson, and neglected charcoal stoves are the major causes of these fires. Previous methods, i.e., satellites, are expensive to maintain and cause unnecessary delays. Also, unit-smoke detectors are highly prone to false alerts. In this paper, an Interval Type-2 TSK fuzzy model for an intelligent lightweight fire intensity detection algorithm with decision-making in low-power devices is proposed using a sparse inference rules approach. A free open–source MATLAB/Simulink fuzzy toolbox integrated into MATLAB 2018a is used… More >

A Method of Integrating Length Constraints into Encoder-Decoder Transformer for Abstractive Text Summarization

    Ngoc-Khuong Nguyen1,2, Dac-Nhuong Le1, Viet-Ha Nguyen2, Anh-Cuong Le3,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.38, No.1, pp. 1-18, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.037083

Abstract Text summarization aims to generate a concise version of the original text. The longer the summary text is, the more detailed it will be from the original text, and this depends on the intended use. Therefore, the problem of generating summary texts with desired lengths is a vital task to put the research into practice. To solve this problem, in this paper, we propose a new method to integrate the desired length of the summarized text into the encoder-decoder model for the abstractive text summarization problem. This length parameter is integrated into the encoding phase at each self-attention step and… More >

    Congenital Heart Disease, Vol.18, No.6, pp. 595-610, 2023, DOI:10.32604/chd.2023.046229

Abstract Background: Congenital absence of pericardium (CAP), also known as pericardial agenesis, represents an uncommon cardiac abnormality and mostly incidental finding. It can be subdivided into complete and partial (left or right-sided) forms. Because of its infrequency, just case reports and a few case series have been released so far. This paper represents the largest systematic review in the field. Nine features (age at diagnosis, type, gender, clinical presentation, electrocardiography, imaging (ultrasounds, CT/MRI), concomitant cardiac defects, and outcome) were analysed. Methods: The electronic database PubMed was investigated from its establishment up to July 15th, 2023. Just case reports and case series… More >
