    R. Mahaveerakannan1, Thanarajan Tamilvizhi2,*, Sonia Jenifer Rayen3, Osamah Ibrahim Khalaf4, Habib Hamam5,6,7,8

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.80, No.3, pp. 3945-3966, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.051611 - 12 September 2024

Abstract The demands on conventional communication networks are increasing rapidly because of the exponential expansion of connected multimedia content. In light of the data-centric aspect of contemporary communication, the information-centric network (ICN) paradigm offers hope for a solution by emphasizing content retrieval by name instead of location. If 5G networks are to meet the expected data demand surge from expanded connectivity and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, then effective caching solutions will be required to maximize network throughput and minimize the use of resources. Hence, an ICN-based Cooperative Caching (ICN-CoC) technique has been used to select… More >

Xiaoli Li, Tongtong Jiao#, Jinfeng Ma, Dongxing Duan, Shengbin Liang#,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.1, pp. 595-617, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.029367 - 22 September 2023

Abstract In view of the complex marine environment of navigation, especially in the case of multiple static and dynamic obstacles, the traditional obstacle avoidance algorithms applied to unmanned surface vehicles (USV) are prone to fall into the trap of local optimization. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved artificial potential field (APF) algorithm, which uses 5G communication technology to communicate between the USV and the control center. The algorithm introduces the USV discrimination mechanism to avoid the USV falling into local optimization when the USV encounter different obstacles in different scenarios. Considering the various scenarios between the… More > Graphic Abstract

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.3, pp. 2803-2818, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.030493 - 15 March 2023

Abstract There are numerous goals in next-generation cellular networks (5G), which is expected to be available soon. They want to increase data rates, reduce end-to-end latencies, and improve end-user service quality. Modern networks need to change because there has been a significant rise in the number of base stations required to meet these needs and put the operators’ low-cost constraints to the test. Because it can withstand interference from other wireless networks, and Adaptive Complex Multicarrier Modulation (ACMM) system is being looked at as a possible choice for the 5th Generation (5G) of wireless networks. CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.1, pp. 1317-1330, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.029879 - 06 February 2023

Abstract This work presents, design and specific absorption rate (SAR) analysis of a 37 GHz antenna, for 5th Generation (5G) applications. The proposed antenna comprises of 4-elements of rectangular patch and an even distribution. The radiating element is composed of copper material supported by Rogers RT5880 substrate of thickness, 0.254 mm, dielectric constant (εr), 2.2, and loss tangent, 0.0009. The 4-elements array antenna is compact in size with a dimension of 8 mm × 20 mm in length and width. The radiating patch is excited with a 50 ohms connector i.e., K-type. The antenna resonates in the frequency band of 37 GHz, that covers the… More >

A Constant Gain and Miniaturized Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna for 5G Communication Applications

    Amruta S. Dixit1, Sumit Kumar1,*, Shabana Urooj2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.3, pp. 4909-4921, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.027862 - 28 July 2022

Abstract This paper proposes a stable gain and a compact Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna (AVA) for a 38 GHz band of 5G communication. A novel compact AVA is designed to provide constant gain, high front to back ratio (FBR), and very high efficiency. The performance of the proposed AVA is enhanced with the help of a dielectric lens (DL) and corrugations. A rectangular-shaped DL is incorporated in conventional AVA (CAVA) to enhance its gain up to 1 dBi and the bandwidth by 1.8 GHz. Next, the rectangular corrugations are implemented in CAVA with lens (CAVA-L) to further improve the… More >

Design of a Novel THz Modulator for B5G Communication

    Omar A. Saraereh*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 1055-1066, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.030193 - 18 May 2022

Abstract Wireless data traffic has expanded at a rate that reminds us of Moore’s prediction for integrated circuits in recent years, necessitating ongoing attempts to supply wireless systems with ever-larger data rates in the near future, despite the under-deployment of 5G networks. Terahertz (THz) communication has been considered a viable response to communication blackout due to the rapid development of THz technology and sensors. THz communication has a high frequency, which allows for better penetration. It is a fast expanding and evolving industry, driven by an increase in wireless traffic volume and data transfer speeds. Hardware Chip Performance of CORDIC Based OFDM Transceiver for Wireless Communication

    Amit Kumar1, Adesh Kumar2,*, Geetam Singh Tomar3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.40, No.2, pp. 645-659, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.019449 - 09 September 2021

Abstract The fourth-generation (4G) and fifth-generation (5G) wireless communication systems use the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation techniques and subcarrier allocations. The OFDM modulator and demodulator have inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) and fast Fourier transform (FFT) respectively. The biggest challenge in IFFT/FFT processor is the computation of imaginary and real values. CORDIC has been proved one of the best rotation algorithms for logarithmic, trigonometric, and complex calculations. The proposed work focuses on the OFDM transceiver hardware chip implementation, in which 8-point to 1024-point IFFT and FFT are used to compute the operations in transmitter… More >
