The published article titled “Physiological Responses of Pea Plants to Salinity and Gibberellic Acid” has been retracted from Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol. 92, No. 1, 2023, pp. 149–164.

Following publication, concerns were brought to the attention of the publisher regarding the right to data and attribution of materials used in the article from an unpublished Master’s thesis by a different author [1]. Adhering to the complaint procedure of the publisher, an investigation was conducted by the Editorial Office and the Editors-in-Chief of the journal, as well as an extensive post-publication evaluation.

The Editorial Board established that while novel findings were presented in the article, appropriate permission to re-publish a significant amount of the data and resources presented in the Master’s thesis was not granted and could not be secured during the post-publication investigation. Given the lack of this permission and the impact that the removal of this content would have on the overall findings of this study, the Editorial Board, Editors-in-Chief and the author came to the mutual agreement to retract this article.
