Summary

With increasing global attention on sustainable agriculture and biodiversity, in vitro techniques have become crucial for plant breeding and genetic diversity conservation. This special issue aims to gather the latest research findings that explore how in vitro strategies can promote sustainable plant breeding and protect genetic diversity.


I welcome contributions on innovative applications of in vitro culture, tissue culture, gene editing, production of secondary metabolites and bioactive compounds, and other technologies in plant improvement, as well as studies on their impacts on crop adaptability, yield enhancement, and nutritional value. By integrating multidisciplinary perspectives, this special issue provides practical guidance and theoretical support for researchers and agricultural practitioners.
