Summary

The study of fruit resistance is gaining increasing importance due to the critical role it plays in safeguarding crop yield and quality amidst global environmental changes and pest pressures. This special issue focuses on recent advances in understanding the resistance mechanisms of fruits to biotic and abiotic stresses, including pests, diseases, and environmental factors like drought and temperature extremes.

We invite original research articles, reviews, and case studies covering various aspects of fruit resistance, from molecular mechanisms to practical breeding strategies. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

· Molecular and Genetic Bases of Resistance: Understanding the key genes and pathways involved in fruit resistance to various stressors.

· Breeding and Biotechnology Approaches: Innovative methods such as gene editing, marker-assisted selection, and transgenic approaches to develop resistant fruit varieties.

· Interactions Between Biotic/Abiotic Stresses and Resistance: Insights into how multiple stresses influence fruit resistance and the development of cross-tolerant varieties.

· Management and Cultivation Practices: Sustainable agricultural techniques to enhance the resistance of fruit crops.

· By bringing together these diverse studies, this special issue will serve as a platform for researchers and professionals in the field to share the latest developments and foster collaborative efforts aimed at improving fruit resistance and securing agricultural productivity.

We look forward to your contributions that push the boundaries of knowledge in this exciting and vital area of agricultural science.
