Summary

The development of drug resistance is the major cause that leads to the failure of cancer intervention, and contributes to the poor prognosis of cancer patients. How to break the resistance to anti-tumor drugs is of great significance to improve the therapeutic efficacy and prolongs patient survival. In addition, identifying key molecules which could predict the therapeutic outcome of anti-tumor drugs is also helpful for the personalized treatment of cancer.

The aim of this special issue is to provide new insights to drug resistance mechanisms in cancer treatment. We welcome original research articles or reviews addressing the following topics:

(1) Exploring new molecules that regulate drug resistance in cancer, including but not limited to chemotherapy drugs, ferroptosis drugs, targeted drugs, or immunotherapy drugs;

(2) New molecule mechanisms underlying drug resistance;

(3) Strategies that break or reduce drug resistance in cancer;

(4) Multi-omics study to identify potential biomarkers that predict treatment response to anti-tumor drugs, combined with experimental validation.
