Summary

This Special Issue will collect original research and review articles from the speakers at the 1st International Cancer Science Congress.

Cancer remains the second leading cause of mortality and its incidence is steadily increasing especially in Western countries, which represents an unbearable burden for individuals and health systems. There is an urgent need to learn more about cancer biology that could inform strategies for prevention, early diagnosis, and more effective new therapeutic interventions. This is the first in a new series of international conferences focusing on cancer cell biology and its translational application in new methods of detection and treatment. Renowned experts in the field of oncology from various research institutes are expected to attend the conference. We encourage the participation of young researchers.

The International Cancer Science Congress is an opportunity to bring together scientists from research institutions and universities to exchange ideas and experiences in basic and translational cancer research. The scientific sessions will cover, but not limited to, the following topics: cancer cell biology and metabolism, the role of genetic mutations and epigenetics in cancer predisposition, development and progression, the importance of the tumor microenvironment and of inflammatory mediators, the importance of the microbiota, the potential therapeutic properties of probiotics and nutraceuticals.

ICSC is the perfect forum for oncology experts to showcase their latest findings. We welcome you to join us in Palermo, Sicily.
