Summary

Cancer is a multifactorial disease that remains a major threat to public health worldwide. Thus, identifying potential anticancer products such as novel biological compounds from various phytochemical constituents, natural and synthetic compounds, and nanoparticles-drug conjugates. Most medicinally plant-derived compounds and metabolites are widely used for anticancer therapeutics, which may demonstrate less toxicity to normal cells over anticancer drugs. This special issue focuses on the current and future applications of natural and synthetic products and their potential application in cancer therapeutics. Small molecules, Natural compounds, Metal, metal oxide and polymeric nanocomposites in-vitro and in vivo anti-cancer activity, apoptosis and identifying their mechanism of action. The authors are encouraged to submit original research novel secondary metabolites, drug targets, and cancer therapy advancement. It is projected that this Special Issue will value researchers in cancer biomedicine and enlighten the ongoing and future advancement associated with cancer drug discovery and development.

Abstract The medicinal plant of Acer tegmentosum Maxim is traditionally used in the southern part of Asia to treat oxidative stress-related diseases, including cancer, diabetes mellitus , wounds, infections, etc. Based on this, the current study was designed to investigate the phytochemical analysis, antioxidants and anti-cancer activities of Acer tegmentosum Maxim (AT). The total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), free radicals scavenging (DPPH and ABTS), chemical constituents as well as cytotoxicity potential ATWE (Acer tegmentosum Maxim water extracts) and ATEE (Acer tegmentosum Maxim ethanolic extracts) were tested. The cytotoxic efficacy ATWE and ATEE were studied in Human embryonic… More >
