Prof. Zhen Fang, Associate Editor of Journal of Renewable Materials, elected into the Canadian Academy of Engineering

Prof. Zhen Fang, Professor, Nanjing Agricultural is among 52 Fellows elected into the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE) 0f 2021, one of the highest professional honors accorded an engineer. The announcement was made by President Yves Beauchamp on 14 June 2021. Due to the complications with the COVID-19 pandemic, new Fellows were welcomed virtually, in conjunction with the Academy’s 2021 Annual General Meeting. The Induction Ceremony, which will honor both the 2020 and 2021 elected Fellows, has been postponed to October 2021, and will be held virtually. To view the official press release, click here.

Prof. Fang is a world-renowned expert in renewable energy and green technologies. He was recognized for his expertise and major contributions to the fields of biomass hydrolysis, biodiesel production, nanocatalysts for biofuel synthesis, hydrothermal process. He has trained many students and engineers in Canada, Japan, Malaysia, and China. He serves both as editor and editorial board member of major energy journals. As the founding Editor-in-Chief, Springer Book Series-Biofuels and Biorefineries, he is leading the Canadian editorial team to organize and assist authors to publish a series of biomass-related books that have made exceptional contributions to the delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Re-authentication forms now require 120 credits to activate. Similar to the test CCNP certification, only one core exam and an optional exam can be taken.

The next generation of CCIE can still be activated for 3 years, but it can also be activated for longer periods of time.

As Associate Editor in Journal of Renewable Materials, Prof. Fang has been dedicated in our editorial work and has specially focused on guest-editing the topical special issue on "Biochar Based Materials for a Green Future" (https://www.techscience.com/jrm/special_detail/green-future), which is now open for submission for our authors. Taking this opportunity, Prof. Fang would like to make a call for paper in JRM. “I always believe quality is the key factor to a journal’s success.  I sincerely welcome and hope to see more and more high-quality contributions to JRM and to our SI”.
