A Final Farewell to Dr. Atluri: Forever Missed, Always Remembered

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our founder and Honorary President, Dr. Satya N. Atluri, on August 4th, 2023.

Dr. Atluri was a world-renowned engineer, educator, researcher, and scientist who made fundamental contributions to the development of finite element methods, boundary element methods, and other computational techniques. He founded Tech Science Press in 1997, and all the journals he established are at the forefront of engineering and science, particularly in the areas of interdisciplinary research and cross-cutting fields.

Dr. Atluri held numerous prestigious positions throughout his career, including serving as the Presidential Chair and University Distinguished Professor at Texas Tech University. He was elected to several esteemed academies, including the National Academy of Engineering and the World Academy of Sciences, and received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the field.

Beyond his accolades, Dr. Atluri had a profound impact on the academic community. He mentored hundreds of students, researchers, and professors from various institutions worldwide and obtained over $60 million in research funding throughout his career. He authored or edited 65 research monographs and created over 800 archival research papers.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. Dr. Atluri’s legacy will live on in the continued work of Tech Science Press and the countless individuals he inspired and mentored throughout his illustrious career.
