Abstract
The effect of nanoclay on properties of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE)/low density polyethylene (LDPE)/Polyamide6 (PE/PA6)film was investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) proved that exfoliation in nanocomposite containing 4 phr of organoclay was achieved and a large amount of organoclay was located in both PA6 and PE/PA interface. According to scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the use of organoclay alongside polyethylene grafted maleic anhydride (PE-g-MA) as a compatibilizer can lead to a reduction of size in dispersed droplets. Transitions in rheological behavior from liquid-like to solid-like at low frequencies were observed for samples containing 4 and 5 phr of organoclay. Keywords
