The 30th International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences (ICCES2024) Concludes Successfully in Singapore

The 30th International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences (ICCES2024) successfully concluded at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre in Singapore, held from August 3 to 6, 2024. The conference was chaired by Professor Kun Zhou, an Academician of the European Academy of Sciences and a professor at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The co-chairs included Professor Shaofan Li from the University of California, Berkeley, Professor Mobin Liu from Peking University, and Professor Poh Leong Hien from the National University of Singapore.

Originating in the United States, ICCES has developed over more than 30 years and held its 30th edition in Singapore for the first time. The conference centered on the theme of the interdisciplinary integration of computational and experimental sciences in engineering applications, attracting over 1,300 experts and scholars from 28 countries and regions worldwide. The event featured nearly 1,000 oral presentations, including plenary, semi-plenary, and parallel sessions, as well as close to 100 poster displays, setting new records for participation and scale.

The official opening ceremony of ICCES2024 took place on the morning of August 4. Professor Kun Zhou, the Conference Chair, delivered the welcome address, followed by remarks from the distinguished guest, Professor Ernst J. Kuipers, Vice President (Research) of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Plenary speakers included eminent figures such as Professor Bin Liu from the National University of Singapore, a Foreign Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and an Academician of the Singapore Academy of Science; Professor Huajian Gao from Tsinghua University, a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, U.S. National Academy of Sciences, U.S. National Academy of Engineering, and the Royal Society of London; Professor J. N. Reddy from Texas A&M University, an Academician of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor Xiqiao Feng from Tsinghua University; Professor Yonggang Huang from Northwestern University, a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, U.S. National Academy of Sciences, U.S. National Academy of Engineering, and the Royal Society of London; Professor Chee Kai Chua from the Singapore University of Technology and Design, an Academician of the Singapore Academy of Engineering; Professor Federico Rosei from the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique, an Academician of the Canadian Academy of Sciences and the Canadian Academy of Engineering; Professor Xu Guo from Dalian University of Technology, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Professor Aman Zhang from Harbin Engineering University. The plenary sessions were chaired by Academician Xiangsheng Chen from Shenzhen University, Professor Shaofan Li, Professor Huajian Gao, and Professor Paulo J. D. S. Bartolo from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
