Abstract A modeling method for flapwise and chordwise bending vibration analysis for rotating Timoshenko beams is introduced. For the modeling method shear and the rotary inertia effects are correctly judged based on \textit {Timoshenko beam theory}. Equations of motion of continuous models are derived from a modeling method which employs hybrid deformation variables. The equations thus derived are transmitted into dimensionless forms. The effects of dimensionless parameters on the modal characteristics of the Timoshenko beams are successfully examined through numerical study. In particular, eigenvalue loci veering phenomena and integrated mode shape critical deviations are contemplated and examined in this work. More >

Abstract Computational methods based on the solution of the flow model are widely used for the analysis of low-speed, inviscid, attached-flow problems. Most of such methods are based on the implementation of the internal Dirichlet boundary condition. In this paper, the time-domain panel method uses the piecewise constant source and doublet singularities. The present method utilizes the time-stepping loop to simulate the unsteady motion of the rotary wing blade for the KHP. Abstract Tire standing wave is one of the crucial factors that may lead to unexpected tire structural failure because the total strain energy of the tire dramatically increases when it occurs. However, its analytical analysis has been limited owing not only to the complicated tire structure and material composition, but also to the problem nonlinearity. Abstract Sloshing flow is formulated based on the linearized potential flow theory, while an artificial damping term is employed into the kinematic free-surface condition to reflect the eminent dissipation effect in resonant sloshing. Abstract This paper deals with the meaning and significance of the fracture mechanics
approach to hydrogen assisted cracking, analyzing the question of K-dominance not
only over the purely mechanical aspects, but also over the environmental (physicochemical) events. Two key factors able to violate the uniqueness of the crack
growth kinetics curve v = v(K) are discussed: the role of far field (the stress-strain
field which is not K-dominated) and the effect of the history of hydrogenation and
