Summary
The growing demand for sustainable food production, climate resilience, and resource optimization has led to the rapid adoption of smart agriculture technologies. Smart agriculture integrates sensors, IoT, remote sensing, and AI to enhance precision farming, crop monitoring, irrigation management, and pest control. Soft computing techniques—including fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms, neural networks, and machine learning—offer innovative solutions to address the complex, dynamic challenges in agriculture, such as weather forecasting, crop yield prediction, disease detection, and resource optimization.
This special issue focuses on the application of soft computing techniques in smart agriculture to enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and automation of agricultural practices. It aims to bring together leading research on the intersection of agriculture, artificial intelligence, and soft computing, showcasing novel approaches for precision farming and decision support systems.
