Summary

The video, imaging and computer graphics, 3D modelling, and multimedia methodologies and technologies have been widely deployed in the computer-visual field over the last couple of years. The ongoing advancement of these technologies has led to new methodologies and applications being implemented in this area. In addition, recent image processing, machine learning algorithms, and particularly in-depth research, are an opportunity to process large datasets efficiently, to extract information and to create new analysis procedures.

The purpose of this Special Issue is twofold: firstly, the latest applications to modern data acquisition and data display devices (e.g. CCTV images, 3D scanners, VR lenses and robots) and, secondly, the new approaches to processing huge datasets using modern pattern recognition and machine learn approaches (e.g., deep learning and hypergraph learning).
