Summary
The rapid rollout of 5G networks is transforming the digital landscape, enabling a vast array of applications such as IoT, autonomous vehicles, smart cities, and more. However, this increased connectivity brings new and more complex security challenges, making the protection of data transmission over 5G networks a crucial issue. Quantum communication, with its inherent security features, offers a promising avenue to address these challenges and strengthen 5G security. This special issue aims to explore recent developments, challenges, and breakthroughs in the integration of quantum communication models with 5G technologies. By bringing together research from both quantum communication and 5G security experts, we seek to foster a multidisciplinary approach to tackling 5G network vulnerabilities and creating robust, future-proof systems.
We welcome contributions from researchers, industry experts, and academics working at the intersection of quantum communication and 5G security. All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and relevance of the publish research. We invite submissions on topics including, but not limited to:
• Quantum Cryptography for 5G Networks
• Quantum-Secure Communication Channels
• Security Challenges in Quantum-Assisted 5G Networks
• Quantum-Safe Authentication and Identity Management in 5G
• Network Security Advancements in Quantum-Enhanced 5G
• Hybrid Quantum-Classical Security Models
