Summary

Cyber security and privacy is an essential need for modern society where information technology and services pervade every aspect of our lives. Specially, security and privacy of Social Internet of Things which is an essential part of our daily life to access different systems, services and applications is a serious issue, today. However, it is challenging to achieve, as technology is changing at rapid speed and our systems turn into ever more complex. Moreover, cyber space is considered as fifth battle-field after land, air, water and space. The explosion of multimedia big data has created unprecedented opportunities and fundamental security challenges as they are not just big in volume, but also unstructured and multi-modal.

The aim of this special issue is to provide a premier international platform for wide range of professions including scholars, researchers, academicians and Industry people to discuss and present the most recent security and privacy challenges and developments in Multimedia ‘big data in Social Internet of Things' from the perspective of providing security awareness and its best practices for the real world. We invite researchers to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will seek the continuing efforts to understand the novel techniques that lead to future improvements for security and privacy of multimedia big data in Social Internet of Things.

Topics to be discussed in this special issue include (but are not limited to) the following:

● Security of multimedia big data in Social Internet of Things

● Security and privacy of multimedia big data in banking systems

● Security and privacy of multimedia big data in telecommunication systems

● Security and privacy of multimedia big data in communication systems

● Security and privacy of multimedia big data in IoTs

● Security and privacy of multimedia big data in emergency services, energy, food chain

● Security and privacy of multimedia big data in mobile cloud computing

● Security and privacy management of big data in Cloud Computing

● Mobile cloud computing intrusion detection systems

Abstract Existing speech retrieval systems are frequently confronted with expanding volumes of speech data. The dynamic updating strategy applied to construct the index can timely process to add or remove unnecessary speech data to meet users’ real-time retrieval requirements. This study proposes an efficient method for retrieving encryption speech, using unsupervised deep hashing and B+ tree dynamic index, which avoid privacy leakage of speech data and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of retrieval. The cloud’s encryption speech library is constructed by using the multi-threaded Dijk-Gentry-Halevi-Vaikuntanathan (DGHV) Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) technique, which encrypts the original speech. In addition, this research employs… More >

A Double-Compensation-Based Federated Learning Scheme for Data Privacy Protection in a Social IoT Scenario

Junqi Guo, Qingyun Xiong, Minghui Yang, Ziyun Zhao
    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.1, pp. 827-848, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.036450

Abstract Nowadays, smart wearable devices are used widely in the Social Internet of Things (IoT), which record human physiological data in real time. To protect the data privacy of smart devices, researchers pay more attention to federated learning. Although the data leakage problem is somewhat solved, a new challenge has emerged. Asynchronous federated learning shortens the convergence time, while it has time delay and data heterogeneity problems. Both of the two problems harm the accuracy. To overcome these issues, we propose an asynchronous federated learning scheme based on double compensation to solve the problem of time delay and data heterogeneity problems.… More >
