Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Industry 4.0, AI security, and large language models (LLMs) represents a frontier of innovation with profound implications for the future of technology and industry. This special issue explores the convergence of these domains, aiming to highlight advancements, challenges, and the transformative potential of these technologies. Industry 4.0, characterized by smart manufacturing and cyber-physical systems, increasingly relies on AI to drive automation, efficiency, and predictive capabilities. Concurrently, the rise of AI security addresses the critical need to protect AI systems from malicious threats and ensure the integrity and reliability of AI-driven processes. Large language models further extend AI's capabilities by enabling advanced natural language processing, decision-making, and knowledge management. This special issue invites original research and review articles investigating these intersecting areas, offering insights into how AI, Industry 4.0, AI security, and LLMs can collectively shape a resilient and innovative technological landscape.
