Summary

Glycosylated macromolecules play a pivotal role in cancer biology, influencing a wide array of cellular processes from signaling to adhesion. This special issue aims to explore the intricate interplay between glycosylation patterns and tumorigenesis.

 

By compiling cutting-edge research from global experts, this issue seeks to shed light on novel mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities in cancer research. Key areas of focus include but are not limited to:

1.  Glycosylation Patterns in Cancer Development:

- Investigating how altered glycosylation patterns contribute to tumor initiation and progression.

- Understanding the role of glycosylated macromolecules in cellular adhesion, migration, and immune evasion.

2.  Impact of Glycosylation on Tumor Microenvironment:

- Exploring how glycosylation influences interactions between tumor cells and their microenvironment.

- Examining the role of glycosylated proteins in modulating immune responses and promoting tumor growth.

3.  Glycoproteins and Cancer Biomarkers:

- Identifying glycoproteins as potential biomarkers for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic targeting.
