RÉSUMÉ

Cet article vise à partager une expérience innovante d’organisation et de financement de la recherche ayant impliqué les premiers concernés : les patients. Le groupe de travail « ECLAIR » du Cancéropôle Lyon Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (CLARA) a été créé en fin d’année 2020 dans le but de contribuer à l’élaboration d’un appel à projets portant sur l’expérience patient en cancérologie, ouvert en janvier 2021. Constitué au départ de 8 membres dont 7 patients, coordonné par un chef de projets du CLARA, le groupe de travail ECLAIR a activement contribué à l’écriture du cahier des charges de l’appel à projets, à l’élaboration des critères d’éligibilité des candidatures, à la révision des critères d’évaluation et de sélection des projets, et au suivi des projets lauréats. Cette expérience s’est renouvelée à deux reprises. Disposant d’une marge de liberté importante, le groupe de travail a pris deux décisions qui marquent avec force la volonté de soutenir le partenariat en recherche et l’implication active des personnes concernées : d’une part, en faisant du partenariat une condition sine qua non de l’éligibilité des dossiers de candidature. D’autre part, en procédant lui-même, après une phase d’évaluation scientifique indépendante, à la sélection des projets. Souhaitant ouvrir la « boîte noire » du partenariat, l’article présente également les modalités concrètes d’interaction entre les membres du groupe de travail, les ajustements qui ont été opérés entre les différentes éditions de l’appel à projets, et les relations entretenues avec le CLARA.

Abstract

This article aims to share an innovative experience of organizing and funding research involving those most directly affected: patients. The “ECLAIR” working group of the Canceropole Lyon Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes (CLARA) was created at the end of 2020 with the goal of contributing to the development of a call for projects on the patient experience in oncology, which was launched in January 2021. Initially composed of 8 members, including 7 patients, coordinated by a project manager from CLARA, the ECLAIR working group actively participated in drafting the specifications of the call for projects, developing the eligibility criteria for applications, revising the evaluation and selection criteria for projects, and monitoring the selected projects. This experience was repeated twice. With significant freedom of action, the working group made two decisions that strongly demonstrate the commitment to supporting research partnerships and the active involvement of those affected: firstly, by making partnership a mandatory requirement for the eligibility of applications, and secondly, by conducting the selection of projects themselves, after an independent scientific evaluation phase. Seeking to shed light on the “black box” of partnership, the article also presents the concrete modalities of interaction among the working group members, the adjustments made between different editions of the call for projects, and the relationships maintained with CLARA.
