Summary
Following the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increase in the prevalence of mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, as well as addictive behaviors, stress, suicide risk, and other internalized and externalized symptoms. It has become evident that the emotional dimension plays a pivotal role when devising more effective psychosocial and psychoeducational strategies to confront these adverse situations and mitigate the risk of psychopathology, maladjustment, and suicidal tendencies.
This issue aims to evaluate the emotional dimension, encompassing both negative (e.g., anxiety, stress, and depression) and positive (e.g., emotional intelligence, life satisfaction, and happiness) aspects across different contexts such as family, social, academic, and health. The objective is to analyze the intricate relationships between these emotional dimensions and mental health, psychological well-being, and suicidal behavior.
Empirical articles, systematic reviews, proposals for prevention and intervention programs to reduce the levels of anxiety, suicide risk, and addictions related to this topic are welcome.
The topics of interest for this special issue include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assessment of anxiety, stress-coping strategies, and suicide risk across different contexts
