Winners of 2020 CMES Young Researcher Award Announced


We are delighted to announce that the winners of the 2020 CMES Young Researcher Award are Dr. Yingjun Wang, Dr. Amin Jajarmi and Dr. Deepak Ranjan Nayak. The inaugural CMES Young Researcher Award aims to recognize outstanding research in computer modeling and simulation.         


About 40 candidates were considered by the Award Committee Members and three candidates were selected to receive the award.

Yingjun Wang (South China University of Technology, China)


Yingjun Wang received his Ph.D. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2013. After then, he worked in University of California, San Diego and McGill University as a Postdoctoral Fellow. In 2016, he started his career as an Associate Professor in South China University of Technology. His research interests include topology optimization, isogeometric analysis, and CAD/CAE integration. In recent years, his research focuses on the integration of design, analysis and optimization based on isogeometric topology optimization, supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key Research and Development Program of China.

Amin Jajarmi (University of Bojnord, Iran)


Amin Jajarmi received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, in 2005, 2007, and 2012, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Bojnord, Iran. His research interests include the computational methods of optimal control for nonlinear and fractional-order systems as well as fractional dynamics and their application in science and engineering.

Deepak Ranjan Nayak (Malaviya National Institute of Technology, India)

 

Deepak Ranjan Nayak is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, India since June 2020. Prior to this position, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering, S. V. National Institute of Technology, Surat, India. He worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram, Chennai. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India in 2019. His current research interests include medical image analysis and classification, machine learning, deep learning, pattern recognition, and computer vision.
