Dr. Yan Gao

Dr. Yan Gao, a professor of Acoustics in the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IACAS). Dr. Yan Gao was educated in China, graduating in Structural Engineering (1998) and completing MSc (2000) degree in Solid Mechanics from Shandong University. She was awarded Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship in 1999, and spent one year at the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan as international exchange researcher before obtaining her MSc. In 2001, she joined the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR), UK and obtain her PhD in 2006. She remained in the ISVR as research fellow working on a number of projects in the Dynamics Group and the Signal Processing and Control Group. She met the needs of CAS Knowledge Innovation Program for Overseas Distinguished Talent (“Hundred Talent Program” -Type A), and returned to China to a professor position in 2012.
