    Jia Qin1,2,3,4,5, Lin An1,2,3,4,5,*

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.19, No.3, pp. 151-157, 2022, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2022.018578

Abstract Myopia is a common ophthalmic deficiency. The structure and function of choroid layer is assumed to be associated with myopia. In this study, a laboratory developed spectral domain optical coherence tomography scanning system is used to image human eyes. The axial resolution of the system is about 7 μm, and the acquisition rate is 100 kHz. Firstly, a cross-sectional image was acquired by averaging 100 images from imaging posterior segment of each eye. The choroid thickness was measured by 11 discrete points. The average thickness of normal human eyes was (0.296 ± 0.126) mm, whereas the average choroid thickness of… More >

Analysis of Biomechanical Characteristics of Football Players at Different Levels Kicking with the Inner Edge of Instep

    Enhua Li*

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.19, No.3, pp. 141-149, 2022, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2022.018558

Abstract This study aims to analyze the difference in biomechanical properties of football players at different levels when kicking the football with the inner edge of the instep. Before the experiment, ten football players were selected; five were higher than the national level (group A), and the other five players were lower than the national level II (group B). During the experiment, the motion process was captured by a high-speed camera for biomechanical analysis. It was found that in group A, the thigh and leg swung in less time and larger amplitude, the acceleration of backswing and forward swing of the… More >

    Journal of Intelligent Medicine and Healthcare, Vol.1, No.1, pp. 43-54, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jimh.2022.032405

Abstract Lung cancer is now the most common type of cancer worldwide, with high levels of morbidity and mortality. The cost of treatment and emotional stress put a high burden on families and society. This paper aims to collect relevant information and provide predictive analysis for the prognosis of patients with lung cancer. Using the public data of SEER database and the method of machine learning, a model is constructed to predict the five-year survival of patients with lung cancer. The re-coding method is used for data processing, the eigenvalues are re-coded to adapt to the construction of the model, and… More >

    Lei Ren1,*, Hao Hua2

    Journal of Intelligent Medicine and Healthcare, Vol.1, No.1, pp. 33-42, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jimh.2022.032093

Abstract The theoretical framework, terminology and coding of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for Children and Youth are useful tools for content analysis of physical activity guidelines for children and adolescents. The guidelines for physical activity for children and adolescents at home and abroad have their own policy background and health-related theoretical basis for healthy development. The formulation and implementation of physical activity guidelines for children and adolescents should be based on the national health policy, propose programs suitable for children and adolescents, and guide the implementation of the guidelines. This paper summarizes the use in patients with… More >

    Nisha Mary1, Bilal Khan1,*, Abdullah A Asiri2, Fazal Muhammad3, Samar Alqhtani4, Khlood M Mehdar5, Hanan Talal Halwani4, Turki Aleyani4, Khalaf A Alshamrani2

    Journal of Intelligent Medicine and Healthcare, Vol.1, No.1, pp. 11-31, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jimh.2022.030161

Abstract Prognosis of HD is a complex task that requires experience and expertise to predict in the early stage. Nowadays, heart failure is rising due to the inherent lifestyle. The healthcare industry generates dense records of patients, which cannot be managed manually. Such an amount of data is very significant in the field of data mining and machine learning when gathering valuable knowledge. During the last few decades, researchers have used different approaches for the prediction of HD, but still, the major problem is the uncertainty factor in the output data and also there is a need to reduce the error… More >

BING WANG*, KAORU TANAKA, KOUICHI MARUYAMA, YASUHARA NINOMIYA, TAKANORI KATSUBE, MITSURU NENOI*

    BIOCELL, Vol.46, No.10, pp. 2315-2325, 2022, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2022.021161

Abstract Investigation on possible induction of adaptive response (AR) by high-liner energy transfer (LET) particle radiation for protection against low-LET photon radiation-induced detrimental effects has not yet been performed in utero. This study verified if an AR could be induced by high-LET particle radiation from accelerated heavy ions against low-LET X-ray radiation-induced detrimental effects on fetal mice. Total body irradiation of pregnant C57BL/6J mice were performed by delivering a priming dose ranging from 10 mGy to 320 mGy of particle radiation on gestation day 11 followed one day later by a challenge dose at 3500 mGy from X-ray radiation. The monoenergetic… More >

    FABIANO BINI1,*, ANDRADA PICA1, ANDREA MARINOZZI2, FRANCO MARINOZZI1

    BIOCELL, Vol.46, No.10, pp. 2225-2229, 2022, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2022.021150

Abstract Bone tissue is a hierarchical material characterized at nanoscale by the mineralized collagen fibril, a recurring structure mainly composed of apatite minerals, collagen and water. Bone nanostructure has a fundamental role in determining the mechanical behavior of the tissue and its mass transport properties. Diffusion phenomenon allows to maintain an adequate supply of metabolites in the mechanisms of bone remodeling, adaptation and repair. Several analytical and computational models have been developed to analyze and predict bone tissue behavior. However, the fine replication of the natural tissue still represents a challenge. Insights on the structural organization at nanoscale and on the… More >
