Prof. Victor S. Sheng is an Associate Professor of computer science with the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, AR, USA, and the Founding Director of Data Analytics Laboratory, University of Central Arkansas. He received his Bachelor Degree from Materials Science and Engineering at Chongqing University (Chongqing, China) in 1993, received his M.Sc.E degree from Computer Engineering at Soochow University (Suzhou, Jiangsu, China) in 1999, received his M.Sc. degree from Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick (Fredericton, NB, Canada) in 2003 and the Ph.D. degree from Computer Science at the University of Western Ontario (London, ON, Canada) in 2007. He was also a post-doctoral researcher (NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow) in information systems with the Stern Business School at New York University (New York, NY, USA) from 2007 to 2009. 

In 2009, Dr. Sheng joined the faculty of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Central Arkansas. His research interests include crowdsourcing, data mining, machine learning, big data analytics, deep learning, natural language processing, spatial database and information retrieval, and related applications, such as software engineering, business intelligence, and medical informatics. Dr. Sheng has published more than 140 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals on data science. According to Google Scholar, Dr. sheng has more than 4320 citations (H-index: 23 and I10-index: 42). In addition, Dr. Sheng with his coauthors won the best paper award from the International Conference on Cloud Computing and Security (2018), the best student paper award finalist from the 16th International Conference on Web Information System Engineering (2015), the best paper award from the 11th Industrial Conference on Data Mining (2011), and the best paper award runner-up from the 14th ACM SIGKDD (2008). Dr. Sheng served as the program chair, the finance chair, the publicity chair, the workshop chair, the area chair, and the session chair for several conferences, serves as SPC and PC for many conferences. He also serves on the editorial board of several journals and reviews papers for many journals.
